Greenwood Village Police Department
The men and women of the Village Police Department are committed and passionate about serving their community. The Village Police Department is a progressive police organization with an outcome based policing philosophy. Outcome based policing is derived from the Village’s outcome based management system. It is an expansion of traditional policing to include problem solving, intervention, partnerships and community based policing as a means to prevent crime, fear of crime, and social disorder. The Village Police Department is focused on providing consistent, high quality police service.
Patrol Division
The Patrol Division consists of the Traffic Unit, K-9 Unit, Court Security, School Resource Officers, Code Enforcement, Patrol and the Emergency Response Team. Staff members provide crime prevention and safety solutions for the residents and businesses of the Village.
Investigations
Investigations consists of Detectives, Crime Lab, Evidence, South Metro Drug Task Force, DEA Task Force, Victim Assistance, Crime Analysis, Emergency Management and Special Events. Their primary purpose is to resolve cases by conducting follow-up and initiating criminal investigations. In addition, staff members collect, preserve, process and dispose of all evidence and property.
Support Services
Support Services consists of Records, Recruitment, Training, 9-1-1 Center, Grants and Volunteers. Staff members provide specialized service to ensure the safety of residents, businesses and other members of the police department, and maintain all criminal records.
