The City of Greenwood Village holds its regular municipal elections in odd numbered years on the first Tuesday of November.   There is no election scheduled for 2014.  Eight Councilmembers will be elected at the 2015 election- two from each Voting District, who will each serve a two-year term. The Mayor who is elected at-large and serves a four-year term will be elected November 2015. 

Special elections may be called by the City Council and may be held at any time. Special elections are often held in conjunction with the Arapahoe County, held in November of even-numbered years. Special elections are usually limited to consideration of ballot issues.  Or can be on a different date and administered entirely by the Village City Clerk.

All municipal elections are non partisan.

Register to Vote Online
If you have a Colorado State driver's license or ID card issued by the Department of Revenue you may register online at Go Vote Colorado.

Qualifications for Registering to Vote
You must meet the following qualifications in order to register to vote:

        ·         Be a United States citizen.
·         Be at least 18 years of age by Election Day.
·         A resident of the State of Colorado for 22 days prior to the election.
·         No person while serving a sentence or detention or confinement in a correctinal facility, jail or other location for a felony conviction or while serving a sentence of parole shall be eleigible to register to vote or to vote in any election.

Re-register to vote if you changed your address or changed your name.  When you move, notify the Arapahoe County Election Department or the Greenwood Village’s City Clerk’s office.  This notification can be in made the form of a properly completed Voter Registration Application or online.

You can change your Political Party Affiliation online or complete a Voter Registration Application showing your new party affiliation.  For Municipal Elections, you may vote for all offices and applicable ballot questions on your ballot, regardless of your party affiliation.

Additional Registration Requirements for Military Personnel and Overseas Residents:

In addition to the qualifications listed above, military personnel and their dependents temporarily living outside of Colorado, and Village residents temporarily living overseas, must not be registered to vote in another state if they wish to register to vote in Colorado.
