Career Opportunities
Greenwood Village Police Department
is a progressive police organization with an outcome based policing
philosophy. Outcome based policing is derived from the Village’s outcome based
management system. It is an expansion of traditional policing to include
problem solving, intervention, partnerships and community policing as a means
to reduce crime, fear of crime, and social disorder. The principles that
define outcomes apply to all branches of government. Public health, public education,
and public safety all require a set of shared values and common goals. They
all rely on partnerships, problem solving, and prevention strategies to ensure
quality of life for individuals, families, neighborhoods, businesses, and their
supporting institutions. Each of these share a common set of values frequently
referred to as quality of life, such as: safe schools, safe homes, safe roads,
and a clean, safe environment. Outcome based policing is the police
department’s part in assuring quality of life for all citizens.
