Throughout the year the Parks, Trails and Recreation Department of Greenwood Village hosts a variety of award-winning parties that bring the community together in spirit, fun and friendship. Spring Fishing Derby: Due to the renovation of Tommy Davis Park and Pond the event is cancelled this spring.

 


Arbor Day Celebration: Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve Tree Planting is on Saturday, April 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Volunteers are wanted to help plant trees, and over 200 native plants and shrubs. A continental breakfast will be available free of charge for all volunteers.


Outdoor Concert at Curtis: Saturday, June 20, 6 p.m. at Curtis Park featuring Rocky Mountain Brassworks.


Greenwood Village Day: This event is open to Greenwood Village residents only.  This is an event where families are encouraged to explore over twenty hands-on art experiences, participate in a mixture of interactive games for both the young and old as well as enjoy live stage shows.  Tickets are available at the PTR Counter beginning July 1.


Join us for the 2nd Annual Tri-Our Village Kids' Triathlon, presented by Greenwood Athletic & Tennis Club and the City of Greenwood Village.  This event is for youth ages 6 - 12 years of age.  The Triathlon will be held Sunday, September 20, 2009, at Greenwood Athletic & Tennis Club, 5801 South Quebec Street.  Pre-registration is required at www.greenwoodatc.com or in person at Greenwood Athletic & Tennis Club.  For more information, please contact Dennis Mellon, 303-770-2582 or Cathy Pate, 303-486-5766.


Art Festival: 3rd Annual Art Festival takes place at Cherry Hills Marketplace, September 11 - 13.


Fallfest: This event is open to Greenwood Village residents only. The event is on Saturday, October 3 in the backyard of City Hall. Tickets are available beginning September 1.


Opera Colorado:  Featuring the Opera Colorado Youth Artists who will perform popular and musical theatre repertoire.  Friday, October 16, from 4 to 6 p.m.


Middle School Basketball TournamentThis popular middle school tournament takes place before the basketball season starts. It's a great avenue to get your team ready for the season. The tournament is held on three consecutive Monday nights; November 9, 16 and 23. Two games are played a night per team. Registration fee: $75/team.


Guitar Hero Middle School Tournament:  Grades 5- 8 are invited to bring their Wii guitar and show off their talent at this 2nd annual tournament at West Middle School gymnasium.  Prizes will be awarded to first and second place.


Mayor's Holiday Lighting:  The event is open to Greenwood Village residents only. The event is on Friday, December 4 at City Hall. Enjoy a walk through Wonderland Village and experience the beautiful lights in a small town setting.
