Building Permits and Inspections

Making certain that dwellings, places of employment, entertainment venues, and retail establishments are constructed to recognized safety standards is another way the Community Development Department enhances the quality of Village living and working environments.  Making certain that buildings are designed with safety in mind is achieved through the Plan Review and Permitting activities of the Department.  Making certain that the people who construct buildings within the Village are qualified to do construction work occurs through the Contractor Licensing Program.  Making certain that buildings are constructed according to approved plans occurs through the Building Inspection function of the Department.

Maintaining high quality business relationships with designers, builders, owners, and tenants while meeting Village building construction safety expectations is important aspect of the Building Permits and Inspections Program.
