ARTICLE III ELECTIVE OFFICERS
Section 3.08 — Standards of Conduct.
The Council shall have the power by ordinance to set
additional standards of conduct for elected officials beyond those specified in
the Charter and may provide by ordinance for such penalties as it deems proper,
including forfeiture of office. An elected official charged with conduct
constituting grounds for forfeiture of office shall be entitled to a public
hearing. Notice of such hearing shall be published in one or more newspapers of
general circulation in the City at least one week in advance of the hearing. The
Council shall have power to subpoena witnesses, administer oaths and require the
production of evidence at such public hearing. Decisions on forfeiture of office
made by the Council shall be subject to judicial review. (Amended at election
