Section 10.01 — General Provisions for Boards and Commissions:

Unless otherwise provided by this Charter, all boards and commissions shall be appointed by the Council and shall have such powers and perform such duties as are provided by this Charter or by ordinance. The number of members of each board and commission, the terms of office and the rules governing each board and commission shall be as specified by ordinance. Members of all boards and commissions shall possess the same qualifications as to residence in the City as persons eligible to serve as Mayor. Each board and commission shall be broadly representative of the varied interests affecting the quality of life in the City, including, but not limited to, the City’s residents, its neighborhoods, and its commercial and retail sectors. Members of boards and commissions shall be appointed to serve without compensation. All members shall be subject to removal by a three-fourths majority vote of the entire Council. The Council shall make appointments to fill vacancies for the unexpired terms. (Amended at election held Nov. 6, 1990)
