2.48.070 Master plan.

The commission shall maintain a master plan. The commission shall, in maintaining a master plan, make studies of present conditions and future growth of the city with due regard to relation to neighboring territory. The plan shall be made with the general purpose of guiding and accomplishing a coordinated development of the city and its environs, which will, evaluated in terms of present and future needs, best promote health, safety, morals, order, convenience, and the general welfare. To be included in such evaluation shall be: adequate provision for traffic, the promotion of safety from fire and other dangers, adequate provisions for light and air, promotion of healthful and convenient distribution of population, promotion of good civic design and arrangement, wise and efficient expenditure of public funds, and adequate provision for public utilities and other public requirements. The commission shall review such plan each year and submit to the city council recommendations for required revision, if any. (Prior code § 5-1-7)
