A. When any individual becomes a candidate, such individual shall certify, by affidavit filed with the city clerk within ten days of his becoming a candidate, as defined at Section 2.72.020(B), that he is familiar with and understands the provisions of this chapter. Any contributions or expenditures received or made in behalf of the candidacy of such individual prior to the filing of such affidavit shall be reported in the first reporting period, and such report shall include the information required under Section 2.72.110.

B. Failure of any person to file an affidavit as required by this section shall result in the disqualification of such person as a candidate. (Ord. 1997-16 § 1 (part))
