Based on Council discussion at the August 21, 2017, City Council Study Session, the construction of phase two has been moved from 2020 to 2018. Phase one is scheduled for construction in the spring of 2018, with phase two starting in late 2018. Staff has requested that UDFCD update their five-year CIP to reflect this change. 90% design drawings were also received in August and comments provided to the design team. It is anticipated that the 404 permit application will be submitted to the Army Corps of Engineers in early September, and a public meeting will be held in late September.
This project consists of channel improvements and installation of a new low flow crossing at the existing Greenwood Gulch trail crossing. Grant funding has been obtained for construction of the low flow crossing, and design of the low flow crossing and channel improvements are being funded and completed through Urban Drainage and Flood Control District’s (UDFCD) maintenance program. It is anticipated that the project will be constructed in two phases, with the first phase consisting of the low flow crossing, and the second phase consisting of the channel improvements. City CIP funding has not yet been identified, and the second phase of the project will be contingent on obtaining City CIP funding.
