Indian Folk Art - Madhubani Art

Saturday, March 10, 2018

With a history that’s rich in culture and heritage, India is a treasure trove of art forms. One such art form is the Indian folk painting style of “MADHUBANI,” which literally means forests of honey. The main artistic features of Madhubani are line drawings filled in by bright high contrast colors and very intricate details and patterns.   This workshop aims at introducing Madhubani to art lovers. It will provide a hands-on understanding of all aspects of the art, such as its history, motifs, themes and techniques. Participants will be guided to make their own paintings. Instructed by Mitra Verma Ages 16 and older
