On July 29, 2021, at 8:51am, Greenwood Village police officers were dispatched to a 911 call at the Havana Auto Parts store located at 9640 E. Arapahoe Road to a shoplifting in progress and possible shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and were told two male suspects entered the store and proceeded to leave the store with unpaid items. The two male suspects were confronted by two employees in the parking lot. A struggle ensued between the suspects and the employees, one of the suspects displayed a firearm. At that time, one of the employees of the Havana Auto Parts store also displayed a firearm, and fired their weapon at the suspect, hitting and injuring the suspect. The suspects then fled in a vehicle. The vehicle is a 2020 black Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk with Colorado rental plate VOA-039. One suspect is in custody and being medically treated at a metro area hospital. The second suspect is still at large.
