Sock It To 'Em Drive Collects Nearly 4,500 Pairs

This year, nearly 4,500 socks were collected by Greenwood Village residents, helping Sock It To ‘Em celebrate reaching their milestone of collecting 1 million pairs of socks since 2012. Since then, Sock It To ‘Em has provided new pairs of socks to those experiencing homelessness, low-income families, and victims of natural disasters throughout the country. In 2021, thousands of socks from Greenwood Village went to families impacted by the Marshall Fire.

Greenwood Village would like to extend our appreciation to everyone that donated to this year’s sock drive and contributed to its success, including:

The City would also like to thank Sock It To ‘Em Founders Sue Lee and Phillis Shimamoto for their ongoing leadership and partnership, and to the National Charity League, Inc. Elevation Chapter for their efforts to count, sort and bag the socks.
