Greenwood Village and H.R. 3095: One ZIP Code for Our Community

Learn how Greenwood Village and other Colorado communities are moving toward one ZIP Code

Did you know Greenwood Village has three ZIP codes that we share with neighboring communities and Arapahoe County? While this works most of the time, it can sometimes create challenges, such as mail being processed at the wrong post office or confusion surrounding community identity and wayfinding. That’s why, even if you live in Greenwood Village, your mail might occasionally say Centennial, Littleton, or Englewood.

Greenwood Village has joined 65 other communities nationwide in supporting H.R. 3095, a bill that would direct the U.S. Postal Service to assign multiple communities to a single ZIP code. Here in Colorado, that includes Castle Pines, Cherry Hills Village, Centennial, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Sterling Ranch, Frederick, Mt. Crested Butte, Keystone, Severance, Silver Cliff, Mountain Village, Superior, and Telluride. The bill has already passed the U.S. House of Representatives.

Senator Bennet and Senator Hickenlooper are exploring a Senate companion bill to support H.R. 3095, which will help move this issue forward. We appreciate their work on behalf of Greenwood Village and other Colorado communities.

This topic is being discussed across the state; 9NEWS recently reported that Greenwood Village is one of ten Colorado communities included in legislation seeking more unified ZIP code assignments. (Read more in this 9NEWS article.)
