Responsibilities

The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z Commission) is a decision-making group of volunteer citizens appointed by the City Council. The P&Z Commission reviews and advises the City Council on land use activities and the Comprehensive Plan for the physical development of the community and also reviews development proposals and sign programs.  The P&Z Commission consists of eight members, two from each of the four voting districts, serving two-year terms.  P&Z works to support community values regarding community appearance, the protection of the natural environment, the safety of the built environment, and the responsible use of private property.
